Dr. Onix C Garib Alpizar was born in Matanzas, Cuba. He completed medical school at his hometown, where he attended Medical University of Matanzas. He completed Family Medicine Residency in Matanzas, and Gastroenterology fellowship in Havana, Cuba. Dr. Garib provided services as a medical doctor in Guatemala and Venezuela.

After migrating to the United States, he completed his Internal Medicine Residency at the Central University of the Caribbean, University Hospital Dr. Ramon Ruiz Arnau, and Gastroenterology Fellowship at University of Puerto Rico, School of Medicine. Dr. Garib is currently Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.

His curiosity, and self-organization has led him to travel, visit exotic places, and spend time at home with family and friends. He promotes and practices an active, healthy lifestyle and diet. He likes to spend time learning, and he is not afraid of stepping outside of his comfort zone to research new things.  His flexibility and adaptability are among his most important personal traits.
